THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO WRITE.
Research the hours of each park. There are extra magic hours at different Disney parks on different nights, for example if Magic Kingdom is open till 1am make sure that’s your Magic Kingdom night.
Something outside of the parks you really need to visit is Downtown Disney. It’s like a big boardwalk shopping and food area, I love it there. Make it a point to go to T-Rex cafe, it’s like eating inside a ride. I don’t think you can make reservations on the phone but there is usually a pretty long wait to get in so make reservations then go shop for a while!
It has the world’s largest Disney store. AHH. love it.
That’s my only recommendation almost outside of the Disney designated area.
Not sure if you’re a first timer or a not-so-often timer so I’m making a “How Kate does Disney + Universal” guide here.
WWOHP is significantly smaller than people think, although I do love it. Universal and islands are slowest first thing in the morning and on Mondays. If you really want to hit Ollivanders run into the park first thing in the morning and go STRAIGHT there. The line is always insane.
The forbidden journey ride is where you go through all of Hogwarts, so I actually prefer to go when there’s a wait, you need time to stop and look at everything!
Order SO MANY BUTTERBEERS! They are orgasmic and can only be purchased in the WWOHP area (Jo’s PERSONAL request.)
Other than that, I’m not a hugeeee fan of Universal/Islands of Adventure, although I do like it I just prefer Disney. Forgive me but I can’t quite remember which ones are in Islands and which are in Universal, so I’m gonna jumble them together. A lot of things are VERY outdated and I would say not even worth going on, ex. Jaws, Twister etc…
The Hulk rollercoaster and the Mummy ride (which is an indoor rollercoaster) are my absolute FAVORITES. Men in Black, the Simpsons ride, and the Spiderman ride are also worth while. Jurassic Park is a littleeee outdated but still cool. Scares the living SHIT out of me.
Those are my “must see” rides if you’re pressed for time.
AND DISNEY. whew, Disney.
Magic Kingdom must sees-
-Casey’s Corner hot dogs and the ice cream shop both on the end of mainstreet are my FAVES. Mickey Mouse eared ice cream cones!
-Pirates of the Caribbean is a must
-Thunder Mountain Railroad is fun if the line is not too bad
-EVERYONE rips on the hall of presidents, but if you’re exhausted and need time to sit down in some air conditioning, I found it to be a very nice American History refresher course…narrated by Morgan Freeman. It has a realistic Animatronic Obama (as well as ALL of the presidents.) How can you hate that?
-The Haunted Mansion is an ALWAYS must. Go through the “scenic” route, it’s more fun!
-Mickey’s PhilharMagic is AMAZING. I don’t know why I get chills every time I watch it.
-Ride the Snow White ride, because it might be your last time… :’(
Rumor is it’ll be closed down for the Fantasyland expansion for a new Snow White themed ride.
-Of course, the teacups are a must.
-Space Mountain!!!! Unless you’re not tiny, or are claustrophobic. Or general phobic of things looking like they’re about to decapitate you.
-If you can, ride the Astro Orbitor at night. It’s exhilarating at night. Going on the Astro Orbitor at night is like total ecstasy to me. (Is that ride still open?)
-Buzz Lightyear’s ride is fun but I can never score enough points.
-I honestly hate the Stitch ride. Skip it.
-Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor is really cute! It’s a very punny live show and they pick on the audience members.
-YOU MUST MUST MUST see the “Magic the Memories and You” show at night. MAKE SURE you have a FULL FRONTAL view of the castle when watching. You want to find a good seat so you can be looking right at the face of the castle. It will blow your fucking mind.
EPCOT!
Anyone who doesn’t like Epcot isn’t a friend of mine. Basically.
I like everything there. Everything.
Pro tip, get there early and IMMEDIATELY go straight to Soarin and get a fast pass. Soarin is a must and it always has an INSANE wait.
Hollywood Studios is great, make sure to go on the Star Tours ride, and go eat at the Sci Fi drive in.
and I plain out don’t like Animal Kingdom.
AND I’VE WRITTEN TOO MUCH.
